We at the Westminster Morris Men are an excellent team of dancers with highly talented musicians. We are flexible, reliable and trustworthy and most of us are house trained.
If you are undertaking some research, please feel free to ask for whatever information you need and we will do our best to assist.
We would be delighted to provide you with a team to dance for you but bitter experience reveals that it is unlikely ever to happen unless you people get your fingers out.
The typical call from a TV production company comes late on a Wednesday afternoon wanting “A couple of dancers” for early Friday morning to spend half a day recording something for some show or other.
There are a few things to note on numbers….
- Our dances are performed by six men. They don’t work with just "a couple"
- We will need our musician with us.
- We really ought to have our Unicorn too as he adds a lot to the performance.
- As a contingency, we should bring along at least one spare dancer. Injuries happen and it would be a daft waste of everyones time and trouble if we were unable to proceed due to someones leg falling off.
This brings the body count to at least nine.
Now, Timing: We all have day jobs and/or a life and 24 hours notice is not likely to be enough. You have known all year when “May day” was going to fall, they even publish the date in your diary. Planning is the key word here.
The F word. FEES. When discussing fees, the sum of £150 has habitually been offered. Not each, just a flat £150. Think for a moment, If I offered you one ninth share in £150 would you drop everything, take a day off work and come running? My time is worth more than that and I’m sure yours is too.
