Who moved the Cotswolds?

Westminster Morris Men all adrift

He does his best, bless him.

Thanks go to our musician Mitch Hursey who has arranged this tour each year for us for a long time. Even though he was unable to attend in 2000, he still did the business for us, splendid fellow that he is. It could all have gone horribly wrong this time..........

The Westminster men find comfort and security from doing things on the same day or weekend each year. The Day of Dance is ALWAYS on 2nd Saturday in May, The Belgravia tour is ALWAYS on the closest Wednesday to midsummers day. The Cotswolds tour is ALWAYS on the third weekend of July.

Since Mitch was not to be in attendance, Roger our Squire thought he would phone Mitch to check that all was well

Roger "Mitch, it's Roger here. Just checking that everything's OK for this weekend"
Mitch "Not this weekend, Next weekend - Always the third weekend in July. You should know that by now."
Roger "This weekend IS the third one in July"
Mitch "No, it can't be. There are another two weekends after this one"
Roger "There are five weekends in July this year"
Mitch "Oh dear" (or words to that effect)
Roger "Why Michael, you silly man" (or words to that effect)

Roger then spent many happy hours contacting all of the venues changing the booking and saved the tour from disaster.

See the face he pulls every time he's remined of his foolish ways.....

.........and then look here and here to see what we really think of him.

Late on the Friday evening, we arrived in dribs and drabs at the Ebrington Arms. On the Saturday we dashed around the picturesque villages where our dances came from to hear "We thought you were coming next week" from various interested parties.
